Privacy Policy

Sylvo is a mood journal. Your journal is private, and the app is built so that it stays that way: no mood, note, or plant you record ever leaves your device.

Who is responsible

Sylvo is made and published by Caner Polat, an independent developer based in Türkiye. You can reach me at canerpolat.cnrplt@gmail.com.

Because Sylvo keeps your journal on your device and runs no server of its own, there is no database of users anywhere for me to look into.

What stays on your device

Your daily mood entries, the notes you write, the plants in your garden and your streak are stored in a local database on your device. They are never uploaded, never visible to me, and never backed up by me. If you delete the app, they are deleted with it.

Your theme choice, reminder settings and unlocked badges are also kept on the device, in local preference storage.

No account, no sign-up

Sylvo never asks you to register. No email address, phone number, name, date of birth or location is collected.

Purchases

Sylvo Premium is sold through the App Store. Your payment details are handled by Apple and never reach me.

To keep track of whether a purchase is active, Sylvo uses RevenueCat, a subscription management service. RevenueCat processes an anonymous identifier generated for your installation together with the purchase receipt information supplied by the store. That identifier is not linked to a name, an email address or any other detail that identifies you. RevenueCat acts as a processor on my behalf; its own privacy policy is published at revenuecat.com/privacy.

No advertising, no tracking

Sylvo shows no advertising. The app contains no ad network, no component that reads the advertising identifier (IDFA), and no analytics or tracking software that watches how you use it — nothing records which screens you open, how long you stay or what you tap. This is also why iOS never asks you for tracking permission inside Sylvo.

There is one narrow exception, and it is worth naming plainly. RevenueCat, described above, shows me subscription figures: how many purchases, renewals and cancellations there were. This is why the App Store privacy label lists purchase history as being used for analytics. Those figures cover purchases only, stay attached to the anonymous identifier described above rather than to you by name, and contain nothing from your journal.

Notifications

The evening reminder is scheduled entirely on your device. No server is contacted to deliver it and no push notification token is collected. You can change the time or switch reminders off at any time in the Profile tab.

App updates

Sylvo uses Expo’s update service so that fixes can reach you without waiting for a store review. When the app checks for an update, technical information is sent: the app version, the platform, the update channel, and a randomly generated identifier that lets the service tell whether this installation already has the latest update.

That identifier is created on your device, is not linked to a name, an email address or an account, and says nothing about who you are. The content of your journal is never part of that request. Expo’s own privacy policy is published at expo.dev/privacy.

Exporting and deleting your data

You can export your garden at any time from Profile › Data. The export is your own action: the file goes wherever you choose to send it through the system share sheet, and from that moment the copy is yours to manage.

To delete everything, use “Reset the garden” in Profile › Data, or delete the app from your device. Both are immediate and cannot be undone by me, because I never held a copy.

Children

Sylvo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any information from them. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, please write to me and I will help.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated text is published on this page and in the app, and the date above changes with it. Continuing to use Sylvo after a change means you accept the updated policy.
